As adults, their scales shone like burnished steel and they usually smelled like wet metal. The scales of younger dragons were a darker blue-grey and less lustrous. Their wings consisted of overlapping blades that resembled feathers, and the scales on their chests resembled shields.\r\n\r\nTheir faces were highly expressive and sometimes appeared human-like. They had many long spines around their faces that gave them the appearance of having hair.\r\n\r\nSteel dragons in humanoid form usually kept their true identities secret.
