{"name":"Paldon","overview":"You were rescued as a baby by the Shadow Hunters, a group of contract monster hunters, led by Rainauld Jacomynus (ja-comb-men-us). As you were an infant, all details of this are second hand. \r\nYou were taken back to Shadow Hunters hall - \u201cRockcaster\u201d in the Eastern Mountains of Darkcrest.\r\nDuring the first half of your life or so, no-one outside of Rainauld trusted you. No one knows what a Loxodon is. You don\u2019t know what a Loxodon is.\r\nSince the order didn\u2019t fully trust you, you were not trained with weapons out of fear. You were allowed however to work with the books, contracts, clerical work of the Order, as well as study medicine and provide healing to those hunters who required it. Or on any people that needed it should they come to Rockcaster.\r\nOver time, you were told by Rainauld the circumstances of your birth. The Shadow Hunters received a very lucrative contract in which a large deployment of hunters were to stop a demon named Malgath on a small island off of Darkcrest. When the hunters arrived, during their initial scouting, they saw your mother give birth to you. After you were born, they also witnessed the cultists and demons slice her throat. \r\nThey began preparing you for some kind of ritual. You and the Shadow Hunters don\u2019t know the ritual. \r\nMany of the Shadow Hunters fell that day, of the 40 that went in, only 8 came out. Seven of those survivors did not want to take you back to Rockcaster. Rainauld, the Grand Marshall of the Shadow Hunters, overrode them, vowing to take responsibility of you.\r\nAround your 30th birthday (which is Eleasis [ee-LEE-sis] 16th 1214), the order started to accept you, seven of the remaining members anyway. You began training with weapons and shields.\r\nShtiya Sitiyok, a Marshall in the Order has always been a vocal proponent of her disdain for you and Rainauld\u2019s decision to bring you back to Rockcaster.\r\nRainauld named you Paldon from the word that came from your mother that he overheard before she was killed. \r\nYou seldom left Rockcaster, never really knowing how the world would view you.\r\nOn Tarsakh [tar-sack] 2, 1274. Rainauld was found dead lying peacefully in his bed in Rockcaster. You had spoke with him the night prior and he was in excellent spirits and seemingly great health for a 90 year old human. \r\nThe Order believes this to be a natural death, and by all accounts it looks 100% natural. \r\nYou took Rainauld\u2019s death very hard. You continue to get a knot in your guts when you think about his passing. You don\u2019t suspect foulplay, but something doesn\u2019t sit right with you about it. \r\nThe night before he passed, Rainauld showed you a letter correspondence from Berinon Cromwell of Di\u2019Rune - a scribe by trade and longtime friend of Rainauld. The letter mentioned that he had heard rumors of beast like creatures far to the East.\r\nRainauld was prepped for six full day\/night cycles as per Shadow Hunter death rites. At dusk on the final day, his body was burned atop a funeral pyre. \r\nA new Grand Marshall was elected at the end of the ceremony - Shitya Sitiyok. \r\nA few days pass, and Rockcaster doesn\u2019t feel right anymore, Shtiya is in charge, which adds to your grief. \r\nShtiya came to you one night, and encouraged you to leave Rockcaster. You suspect it was because she didn\u2019t want you there, but she pitched it as a benefit to you.  \r\nThe order convinced Shtiya that you needed to be a representative of the Shadow Hunters or the people in the world would likely attack you for fear of the unknown walking Elephant man.\r\nAs you departed Rockcaster, you were given a symbol proclaiming you to be a Warden of the Shadow Hunters. \r\nYou spent the next few days walking out of the mountains and towards Brasov, the closest city in Darkcrest. \r\nBrasov is also the Capital of Darkcrest. \r\nArriving at the gates of Brasov, the city guard fully surrounded you at spear and sword point. Archers with arrows knocked. Presenting your Warden credentials along with some knowledge of the Shadow Hunters, you were allowed to pass. Warned you would be watched with a close eye.\r\nAs you entered into Brasov, you found yourself in Beggar\u2019s Row a street where many poor gathered. All travelers from the land gates of Brasov had to walk down Beggar\u2019s Row.  \r\nAs you were making your way down Beggar\u2019s Row, you noticed an Elven Blacksmith attempting to bend a thick metal over a hot fire. Struggling to bend it, and not seeming to make any progress; you walk over and press it down. Recognizing the intended goal from your smithing training. Your sheer power and strength bending the thick metal perfectly for the smith. \r\nThe smith taken aback in awe of your strength and fear of your look, stumbled through some words and eventually told you to return the following day if you wanted some coin, as he had to make about a dozen more of this bends. He introduced himself as Eldrin Oriven.\r\nYou agree, and find out about shelter at The Tipsy Rat. A low end tavern. The Blacksmith gave you a few silver pieces for your help and told you that would cover a small meal and room at the Tipsy Rat. For the next few days, you stayed at the Tipsy Rat at night, helping the blacksmith during the day. \r\nOn the fourth night at the Tipsy Rat, you overhear a ship captain say he is travelling to Di\u2019Rune. Remembering the letter that Rainauld had shown to you a couple weeks prior, you proceed to offer what money you have and services aboard the ship for passage to Di\u2019Rune.
