Merfolk

Merfolks were born with divine gifts of the sea being the emissary and voice of all sea life. They were born with psionic mental abilities to convey thoughts to sea life and understand them and their needs in return while having the fortitude to resist psionic attacks. The merfolk were also born with extraordinary gifts having natural talent with instruments and voices that captivate all who listen to their performances. Born with no legs they adapted to swimming and creating currents behind their fins letting them move faster than most sea born species, the excel in all they do in the sea believing themselves the most divine born from the Aquillus crystal. Merfolk who walk the land is heavy taboo within their communities and only one industry created a way for merfolk to be gifted legs to explore the vast lands above. When they decide to travel above sea they must go through Sea to Turf International, where they strip you of little bits of your gifts as merfolk don’t believe air breathers deserve to hear their glory and blessings but when doing so you are granted legs and lungs to explore all the world has to offer.

Child of the Sea

You can breathe water, and you have resistance to cold damage.

Darkvision

You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light and in darkness as if it were dim light. You discern colors in that darkness only as shades of gray.

Deep Psionic

You have the ability to speak to creatures with your mind within 15 feet of you. As well your psionic fortitude grants you resistance to psychic damage.

Gift of the Sea

You were born with extraordinary gifts to enchant the sea with your charming voice and captivating performances. You are granted expertise in performance skill checks and, can choose three instruments to have proficiency in. When you make a performance check using your voice or instruments, you can choose anyone you can see to make a Charisma saving throw equal to your performance check or be charmed until you finish your performance.

Voice of the Sea

Aquatic animals have an extraordinary affinity with your people. You can communicate with your mind to any Beast that has a swimming speed.

Minor Curse of Walking

When deciding to take on land you much receive a locket from a powerful force that gifts you legs in exchange for a piece of your gifts. This locket grants you a walking speed of 30 feet and the ability to breathe air. When you roll a performance check while on land roll 1d4 and subtract that from your total. You don’t need to roll this debuff while in water.
