You increase your Devotion score to Athame when you satisfy it's Tenants and expand the god's influence in the world in a concrete way through acts such as these:
• Dedicating the death of a powerful foe to Athame, especially after a chase
• Improving your position by eliminating someone considered "Higher" on the food chain than yourself
• Choosing the path of most resistance when simpler options are possible
• Leave a violent, bloody mark on the world that will be talked about

Your Devotion score to Athame decreases if you diminish Atames influence in the world, contradict his ideals, or make him look weak or ineffectual through acts such as these:
• Sparing your foes
• Publicly displaying weakness or compassion
Rejecting a duel or a challenge out of fear  

A given action can only increase or decrease Devotion by 1 point.
