Dragon Scholar in Dungeons & Dragons 5e

Dragon Scholar

Overview:

You are a member of the Arcanum Consortium.

Your work has focused on the disappearance of dragons thousands of cycles ago, a subject built on incomplete records and conflicting accounts. Some claim the dragons died out. Others believe they left the world entirely. None of these explanations have held up under your study, and the more you searched, the clearer it became that something is missing.

You chose to continue the research.

You learned how to compare damaged texts, identify altered records, and follow patterns others overlook. Your work is known within the Consortium, though not always supported.

Then you saw one.

The sighting confirmed what your research suggested. The accepted history is wrong. You are no longer working from theory.

You are working from proof. You intend to find the truth, wherever it leads.

Skill Proficiencies: Choose two from: Arcana, History, Investigation, Religion, Nature, Perception
Tool Proficiencies: Choose one: Calligrapher’s Supplies, Cartographer’s Tools, Alchemist’s Supplies, Herbalism Kit
Lifestyle: Modest

Feature: Consortium Standing

  • You begin with an elevated renown of 5 within the organization, at the Adept rank.
  • You can access Consortium facilities, archives, and research spaces in settlements where they operate.
  • You may request basic research materials, references, or assistance related to your field of study.

When acting in an official capacity, you are expected to document your findings and adhere to the standards of the Consortium.

Feature: Dragon Lore

You have spent significant time studying fragmented records and accounts of dragons. You can identify references, symbols, or historical clues related to dragons, even when they are incomplete or obscured.
