This story is not intended to be graphic and should be suitable for most people characterized as ‘late young adult’ to ‘new adult,’ if I had to put a particular name to the demographic. I personally find excessive violence, gore, and graphic depictions to be extremely off-putting and I do not write them.

However, that does not mean that this story avoids offensive or triggering subjects. I try my level best to treat them in a tactful manner and through the perspective of a ‘good’ person, but I do not doubt that I will fail some readers in hewing to their own limits. Please accept my humble apologies if there is some subject that triggers you (and message me if you feel it was not indicated below).

Strong Language: This act, as well as the overall story and world of Demons Drink Coffee, uses strong language, inclusive of s**t, f**k, and others.

Racism: While not a critical component of the story, elves in the Aemark Kingdom are second-class citizens per a treaty established when the Elven Conclave was conquered. Some characters exhibit anti-elven views. Further, Aemark citizens are raised to view the Kaokut Coalition (primarily dwarves and gnomes) and Al’Orphic Alliance (primarily Orphics) as inferior and viciously antagonistic.

Depression and Suicidal Ideation: The main character, Shikya, is a troubled individual and the narrative spends a high proportion of time on her internal thoughts. While she would not characterize herself as suicidal, there are moments where she does not care if she were to die and at times, may welcome it.

Trauma: Some events Shikya experiences leave lasting pain and reverberate through the rest of the story. These events are often related to the other triggers listed below.

Sexual Harassment and Attempted Rape: A driving force within the story is the interplay between Shikya and her contracted succubus, Velzix, who consistently presses Shikya into uncomfortable and specifically unwanted situations. There is one scene involving non-consensual, though incomplete, sex.

Binge Drinking: The world of Turan, and magic, includes the ability to cure or prevent hangovers and characters use this ability to overindulge in alcohol.

Death, Murder, and Killing: Deaths are not numerous in the story, nor is death or killing glorified, but the main character is mentally affected by them and ruminates on her involvement. Some young people die in the story.

Kidnapping: One plot point involves kidnapping via drugs with later imprisonment.

Cults and Human Sacrifice: A group within the world of Turan believes that magic is evil and one way in which they pursue their goals is to sacrifice wizards to their gods.
