This classic novella, written by H. G. (Herbert George) Wells, (1866-1946), is a work of post-apocalyptic science fiction far before its time. Although a commentary on issues of the era, the work still holds as a remarkably fresh and pertinent narrative about the nature of humanity, and the way we struggle with change. Even over a century later, it continues to inspire new stories, with over a dozen "sequels" to The Time Machine having been written by other authors. It is presented here in the hope that it will inspire a new generation of science fiction enthusiasts.
