Yulian walked Jenai, Lord Cordell and his father into the rose garden. He watched Jenai’s expression as she took in her surroundings with excitement and glee. The table was filled with different types of breads, meats and vegetables. The garden was her favorite part. You could tell by the look in her eyes. It brought happiness to Yulian to see her happy. Strange since he only felt that way with her. Robert sat next to Tylin leaving two seats for Yulian and Jenai. Yulian pulled her seat out for her with a smile. He sat cautiously on his own. He couldn't take his eyes off her.

Robert Cordell noticed. “ Lord Yulian I hear Lady Dahlia has set her sights on you once again.” That snapped him from his stupor, but he still could not take his eyes off of her. “No sir. That is just a rumor I assure you. The last woman to catch my interests was some time ago.”Yulian replied as if it was of no consequence. Peeking Robert’s interest even more. “May I ask, what is your view on courtship Lord Yulian because I take such matters seriously.” Jenai was surprised at her father's line of interrogation. He couldn't be interested in courting her; he was well over a hundred years her senior. She watched as Lord Yulian turned his gaze from her to her father. Looking Robert directly in his eyes he ran a steady hand through his hair. “I take it very seriously. I don't believe that finding one's mate is a joke.” Tylin shook his head. He warned Yulian. He was such a stubborn and hard headed child. “ Yulian we are running low on our best wine for our guests let's go grab some from our cellar.” Yulian arose from his seat and followed his father to the cellar.

“Yulian you stubborn boy! Didn't I warn you not to toy with Jenai Cordell? You go and directly disobey me?” Yulian looked at his father in confusion. His anger was apparent the heat radiating from his power proved how upset he was. “Sir, I agree she is not one to play with. I happened upon her accidentally when she was looking for you and Lord Cordell. I don't know what it is, but I am drawn to her and want nothing more than to see her smiling father. I haven't once thought of bedding her today.” Tylin shook his head, calming himself as his son stood before him. “Yulian, I know you kissed her. I could scent a hint of surprise and arousal off her the moment Robert and I caught up to the two of you. It's why Robert questioned you. Quite frankly he was tempted to remove your hands and tongue from your mouth.” Harsh, but not surprising. “I was wondering what was going through his mind while he gazed at me evilly.” Yulian laughed. Tylin paced. “He will kill you if you hurt her.” He placed a hand on his father's shoulder. “That is the furthest thing from my mind. Now can we get back to lunch? I have been gone from her too long already.” He had meant to just think the last part. It threw Tylin for a loop. His son was drawn to Jenai in a way that he needed to shake away. It was almost...no he just had to be obsessed with her beauty. That was it.

Yulian arrived back at the table. Jenai was still there, he was relieved to see. “Sorry for the wait. We wanted to select only the best wine we had to offer.” He spoke reassuringly. Looking across from him at Lord Robert, he noticed his expression was not happy or smiling once again. Jenai was the opposite. Without taking his eyes off of Jenai, Yulian asked Lord Robert a throwing question. “I know you are uncomfortable with me spending time with Jenai. You I am sure have heard rumors about me and relationships I have had. If I promise you this is nothing like my past would you allow me the honor of getting to know her?” Tylin walked in on the tail end of Yulian's statement, but the gist was enough. He could see both anger and surprise across his old friend's expression. This was not going to go the way his son had hoped. “Yulian you are right. I have heard of your trysts and conquests and I don't approve of you spending time with my daughter. The next few weeks we are here because of business. We will be here for the summer. I expect that you will try to spend time with her anyway. If I find out however that your actions are unsavory, I will kill you. I have eyes everywhere. Your father and I discussed this in full before we even left our home.”

Yulian removed his gaze from Jenai and smiled. “I would expect nothing less Robert.”
