Make a generic "Event" article type

What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?

There is no article template for something that happened that doesn't fit into "Conflict." That is the only event type I see and a lot more things happen in history than just conflicts.

How does this feature request address the current situation?

It would create a versatile and useful new template that is guaranteed to be utilized frequently.     NOTE: I saw that this had already been suggested and declined with the note from Dimitri only saying "Please check previous suggestions before making new ones." The suggester said he did and didn't find it but there was no follow-up clarification. Unfortunately this is very unhelpful as I also would love a feature like this and cannot find a reason anywhere for it being declined. I am sorry if this is due to fault of mine.

What's wrong with the "Generic" template? Wouldn't that work for this?

historocal events exist already, as lyraine mentiond.   i just wanted to add that you don't even have to add them to a time line to use them if you don't want

Events can also be Traditions.   If you're meaning events like a peace pact or a trade deal, those usually have some form of documentation (even verbal stories count) making them a Document.   Or it's a Myth/Legend template repurposed for something more concrete.   Conflicts are also a template used for non-military events where there are at least two sides - sportsball games, food fights, debates, dance competitions or showcasing events, trade negotiations.   You can also create Events on a timeline, and then link to those events in your article by going to Timelines > Historical Events and then click on the clipboard icon by the name of the event. It would embed like this [history:578cb3e7-4f45-45a4-baa1-40e55fc9bea1]Alleklint and K battles[/history] to appear as Alleklint and K battles to pull from the first event I've got listed for my timelines.   As for the previous suggestion, I admit to struggling with the key words I could think of as well, unless Dimitris is referring to some requests asking genericly to just add more templates where Events was one example of several in those requests. (Down vote is more because I personally think we have other templates that work, the Events from Timelines, or using the Generic Template)
