What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?
Currently, categories are sorted entirely manually. When a new article is created, it is simply put at the bottom of a category. This is unlikely helpful for a user, and they will have to re-arrange them to match some logic.
A common use case may be arranging articles alphabetically, as well as manually.
It is very annoying to manually rearrange the articles, and you must do so manually every time a new article is added or its parent category is changed.
How does this feature request address the current situation?
I propose a new button on the athena Articles & Categories page. Just below the category search bar and above the list of child articles, a button could be added for "Arrange Alphabetically" or "Alphabetize". When clicked, it rearranges all articles in the current category in alphabetical order.
This would improve the user experience by making it a single button click, no need for drag and drop that can be finnicky. If they want manual sorting, they can still do so.
What are other uses for this feature request?
This could be expanded into an article weighting system like the notebook has - so that new articles are automatically alphabetized, but important articles might always display at the top.
The Team's Response
This is already available under the advanced options on Articles & Categories when you edit a category.
