What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?
There is no way to mark a event as still in progress. Every event is treated as completed, which makes it difficult to manage in progress event. This limits accurate representation of the current state of the world and prevents the timeline view from reflecting that some events have not yet finished.
How does this feature request address the current situation?
Adding a tickbox labeled “Event is currently ongoing” would allow users to explicitly indicate that an event remains active. Events with this flag would:
- Automatically extend in the timeline view until an end date is provided,
- Display an “Ongoing” badge in the timeline and on the historical events page,
The Team's Response
Thanks for the suggestion! Currently, your world doesn't truly know what the current date is (the field exists, but its information doesn't spread to all features), so for now this can't happen. However, we like the idea and "date awareness" is already planned for a future update, which would make this possible. So, for now, we're accepting this for investigation.
