I don't use the community tab at all, so personally I find news tab as homepage a more suitable option. However, if someone finds that they'd prefer a community tab as homepage, such option should be provided.

I think I'd prefer us being able to choose which tab to default to - I also forget to check the community tab sometimes, but I understand why some people (including myself) would prefer it to default to the news tab.

I remember the team going back and forth on this one because people like the community but the team doesn't want the outward-facing homepage to reflect things and views that are not expressed by the team, so I understand the choice. Still, the news page is often outdated and people sometimes have a challenge trying to find where the community tab has actually gone. As for me, it takes a while to load and the whole front page seems cluttered and ad-ridden now, even though the ads in question are from WorldAnvil. I feel that there is probably a better way to layout the homepage and honestly taking the news section away since there are so many other ways to access the same thing would probably be better, in my opinion. The dashboard being called the dashboard and then us having another section for our own worlds called dashboard is also confusing. It seems a lot could be reworked. I have ideas but won't crowd them here. Anyways, thanks for suggesting this. God bless.

I think it would be nice to be able to set the default tab in one's user options rather than having it apply globally as in this suggestion.

I agree with Rambunctious Dragon. Everyone has different tastes as to what they want to see when they open up WA, and no option can please everyone. The most user-friendly option is allowing everyone to choose their own, but I feel you could probably do that yourself with a shortcut on your browser.

Personally I prefer it defaulting to the news tab, which is how the homepage used to work, and I hated having to swap over to the news tab to check it. Ultimately, unless they let you pick a tab to default to, I think there will always be people put out by whichever tab ends up as the default.
