What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?
I'd like to propose three new additions to the list of categories offered when creating a geographical location, namely "Road", "Canal" and "Railway". All of these, though extensive and linear meet the requirements of a geographical location and although I don't personally have a use for the last one (yet!) I do for the other two.How does this feature request address the current situation?
Transport links are fun things to write about for world building and the location template is a natural one to use to describe them, even if they might also be associated with organisations. Fundamentally they are locations, albeit thin linear ones.What are other uses for this feature request?
I can't immediately think of other types of extended transport links that fit this pattern ("air corridor" or "sea route" perhaps at a push, but I'm not sure they make such great locations as the land based ones) but if there are any good ones I'm not including then it would be great to support them too.Follow up
Apologies for raising this one. Since the categories I was looking for already live elsewhere as pointed out by The Big G, I am happy to use the building/landmark template instead. I will switch my canal article over to the new template and hopefully no harm done :-)

on 2024-12-02 16:24I'm so sorry to have to give a negative vote here, but these three examples are already options in the drop-down menu for the buliding/landmark template, where they belong. Geographic locations are natural features. But you have brought to my attention the fact that ocean currents and atmospheric jet streams are missing from the geographic location dropdown, and those are natural features that would be important in worlds that feature extensive sea or air travel.
