The World Chronicle has been extremely helpful with planning history, but once I add a marker, I can see it regardless of where I am on the Timeline. This leads to some maps becoming cluttered when too many markers are added. It would either require multiple variants of the same map or accepting the clutter.
It would allow us to select when a Marker is visible based on the Timelines. For example, if a settlement is established in the year 111, the marker for that settlement only appears if you are past that year on the Timeline.
If you wanted to catalog the events of a war, or other events on a map, you can have them present during the relevant moments in the Timeline.
So far i did not bother the chronicle exactly because this is missing. Too little benefit over using Timeline + Map for my usecase. This would upgrade Chronicles a lot :)
Whilst this sounds like a difficult thing to put in it would be a really useful feature. It could also used to allow writers to add markers for characters that would change over time to show a pictorial representation of their travels.
Agreed. I think this would have to come with a Show All toggle just so you can find something if you lost track if "when" you stuck it somewhere.
Oh I like the sound of that. Being able to configure 'show from X to Y' per marker could allow for a dynamic map feeling as you go through time.
