race features:
Anatomy Same as your original species, but only two
usable arms and two usable legs
Creature Type Humanoid and Undead
Size: Medium or Small (same as your original species), chosen when you select this species
Between Life and Death. You are still affected by spells
and other effects that normally don’t affect Undead as
long as they can affect Humanoids, such as the Cure
Wounds spell.
Endless Shamble. You have Advantage on saving
throws to avoid or end Exhaustion.
Eternal Legacy. Although you’ve been reborn as
a desiccated, traits from your previous life still shine
through. During character creation, choose another
species presented in this book or a different one. That is
the species you were in life. You keep the same size and
anatomy as your previous life, as well as one special trait
from the species you were in life.
This trait cannot increase your ability scores, provide
a feat, or give a Fly, Swim, or Burrow Speed. It also
can’t be a trait that grants you access to other special
traits, such as the Mycelian’s Symbiotic Assimilation*
Undead Nature. You don’t need to eat, drink, or
breathe. You don’t have blood.
Unravel. When you are reduced to 0 Hit Points but
not killed outright, you can drop to 1 Hit Point instead,
losing an arm, a leg, or your head in the process (your
choice). The body part detaches almost completely from
your body, remaining connected by a length of skin or a
piece of wrapping that drags behind you.
Your Speed is halved if you’re missing a leg. If you
lose both legs, you fall Prone and can't stand up, but can
still crawl if you have at least one arm–otherwise, your
Speed is 0 feet, and you can’t benefit from any bonuses
to Speed. A lost arm can’t be used to interact with or
hold items, make attacks, wield weapons, or perform
Somatic components for a spell. Without your head, you
are Blinded and Deafened.
You can use this trait a number of times equal to half
your Proficiency Bonus (rounded down), and you regain
all expended uses when you finish a Long Rest. You can
reattach any of your lost body parts over the course of a
Short or Long Rest, or when targeted by a Lesser Restoration spell or similar magic.
