Elinor
Elinor continued to look around the busy hall. She didn’t know why, no she knew why but she knew it wouldn’t happen. If her father had arrived on Bastion without her knowing he would have been at that hall she knew, but he wasn’t, and the feasting had started hours ago, and he wouldn’t show up now, but she continued to look throughout the room every now and again at the faces.
Blair Tusk, the Furmann future queen of the Commonwealth of Drala was a kind and pleasant woman. She asked her guests questions, and spoke softly to each of them
Elinor met two of Victor’s siblings. Idunn vault, a member of the King’s Guard Forces, who served under the King’s Guard Hilda Grip, herself a young and beauiful woman. She had replaced her mother in the King’s Guard Elinor knew, and rumors spoke of an affair with the king. She didn’t know if she should believe such rumors, there was one for most the female staff of the king, and even with the Crown Prince.
Richard Vault was no older than Elinor herself. Named for his grandfather, the System-lord of Brightstone. He served with Prince Edwyn Gisking on the ‘Greymark’. The two were starfighter pilots along with the other two companions of the prince, Magnus Underwood, brother to the Thane of the Eight Systems, and Lydia Wild, youngest daughter to System-lord Wallis Wild of Dagport.
The three siblings shared the same hair color, different shades of blonde.
Prince Edwyn had followed in his elder brothers foot steps and become a starfighter pilot. Elinor wondered if he had the skill of his brother. The Crown Prince was famous for his skill, and her father said that few could match his skill.
General Ulrik Grimmhart had trained her to use the Starfighters which had become common throughout the Commonwealth to combat the Furse. To launch counter attack against the hundreds of small ships which would jump in at close distance to the large Commonwealth ships and attack like a swarm of bees against the hull, too close for most weapon to do much and too close for other ships to help without firing on their own.
He had been proud when she found her own path though, and she kept up with her training though and logged hour after after in flight sims. The Crown Prince almost made that mandatory. Everyone was to know how to fight. Pistol, Blade, rifle. Starship turret or starfighter. They were a warship, and if you served on the ‘Skreap’, you were expected to fight when called on.
It was likely why she was there at the feast, although the invition had come from the future queen herself. She had the name and noblilty. She, as far as she knew, could be trusted as much as any member of the ‘Skreap’. Not that she expected the feast to turn into a fight, although it wouldnt be the first time a feast turned into a drunken brawl.
