Wordler 361 jumped onto the platform to address her fellow villagers. “I am honored to receive your trust, and just wait until you see the word I bring back for you all. It will be the biggest word, the greatest word, and the best word of them all!”
“The Words of Power are always five letters long,” Wordler 360 reminded her. “Mine was ATONE.”
“Yes, yes, ATONE,” said 361, waving dismissively. “That was good. But my word won’t just be good, it’ll be great!”
“It doesn’t have to be great,” said Wordler 352. “It just has to be the singular word that will stave off the curse for one more day. Do you think I wanted to bring back GLOOM? That was a terrible thing to return home with, but GLOOM was what we needed. GLOOM fought off our doom.”
“My word will be special. You’ll see. You’ll all have to admit that my word is the best.”
“Just go!” the others chorused.
Some time later, 361 returned. The other Wordlers gathered around as she climbed back onto the platform and raised her word over her head for all to see. “Well? Isn’t it amazing?”
“That really is a high-quality word,” said the QUEEN, and the celebration began.
