Day 357: GOOSE

230 0 0

357 days after a wizard cursed the REALM…

Current Version:

Wordler 357 set out along the west road through farm country. The sun shone brightly, and she heard the song of birds and the mooing of cows. It was an odd farm on which an increasingly forgetful farmer had labeled the animals, the buildings, and the crops to help him remember his trade.

"Milk this," said a helpful tag that hung around the neck of a cow.

"Don't milk this," said an equally helpful tag that hung around the neck of a bull.

The day grew hotter. While passing a pond, 357 had the urge to go for a swim, even if it meant a detour from her quest. “If I'm meant to keep going, the gods will fly me over the water and onward to victory,” she declared, as she leaped into the water.

The gods, if they'd taken any notice at all, apparently decided they weren't getting involved.

The water was cool and refreshing, but after a few strokes, 357 felt a tugging on her leg. She looked down and saw that it was a bird with a golden tag around its neck. The tag had a single word inscribed upon it.

357 declared victory in her quest and did a victory lap around the pond.
